Daniels Reads “The Powerline”

Pete Daniels, a former Door County resident who lived on Washington Island and in Sturgeon Bay from 1996 to 2006, will read portions of his new play on June 21, from 4 – 6 pm at Woodwalk Gallery. The event is free and open to the public. Pete is asking for interested people to attend and give honest feedback that can contribute to the development of the script. Good will donations will be accepted.

With a working title of “The Powerline,” Pete’s one-man show weaves stories, poems, letters, and monologes into a dramatic whole addressing the issues of health, aging, and transition in general and how those issues can fuel the creative process, which in turn can lead to personal revelations and healing. At times funny, at times tragic, at times dramatic, and at times informative the creative impulse for Pete’s show came during a biopsy and the subsequent diagnosis of prostate cancer.

The project is being produced by the Milwaukee Public Theatre (MPT). Formerly Friends Mime, MPT has had a commitment to producing works on AIDS, Alzheimers, sexual abuse, paralysis and a variety of multi-cultural issues.

The reading will occur at Woodwalk Gallery, which is located at 6746 County Road G, about a mile off of Highway 42 between Carlsville and Egg Harbor.
