Date Change for AFT’s “Northwoods Nightcap”

American Folklore Theatre (AFT) has announced that its popular late-night variety show Northwoods Nightcap is being moved from Friday, August 13 to Thursday, August 12. The show, which runs from 10 – 11 pm, features a lively mixture of humor, music, and special appearances by AFT characters.

“When we originally scheduled the Nightcap months ago, we didn’t realize the huge amount of time it would take to move the massive set for our show Life on the Mississippi, which plays on Friday nights,” said Doc Heide, the show’s co-host. “Moving the show to Thursday should allow a much smoother turnaround.”

This is the fifth year that AFT will present Northwoods Nightcap, co-hosted by Lee Becker. It will be the only Nightcap for the 2010 season.

Scheduled guests include Memphis string wizards Eric Lewis and Tommy Burroughs, vocalist Holly Feldman, Heritage Ensemble founding member Craig Konowalski, and Milwaukee-based actor Jonathan Wainwright.

The show will have a Fred Alley Song of the Week, a Heritage Ensemble Song of the Week, comedy by audience favorite Ernie the Moocher from Guys on Ice, and the world premiere of a Doc Heide original song.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Advance tickets are available at Sub Express in Sister Bay and Novel Ideas in Baileys Harbor, sponsors of the show. For more information call 920.854.6117 or visit http://www.folkloretheatre.com.
