David Franke Exhibiting Work in ‘Eye to Eye’

When Rockford, Illinois, artist Norm Knott and Door County artist David Franke met, there was an immediate connection, both with the visual imagery in their work and the inspiration behind the engaging pieces they create. Now they’ve come together in the exhibition Eye to Eye: Here’s Looking at You, on display through March 31 in the Kortman Gallery, upstairs at the J.R. Kortman Center for Design, 107 N. Main St. in Rockford, Illinois. 

Franke creates quirky, eye-catching, interactive sculptures and assemblages that often have the eye as the focus. Eye to Eye will feature Knott’s wearable art, along with his “Normaments” – a term he coined to describe his pieces that could be described as “table jewelry.”
