Day Classes at The Clearing

Naturalist Paul Regnier will discuss this easy, life-long hobby of birding on June 17 at The Clearing for “Birding Basics and More.” The class will start off with the basics of bird watching equipment, field guides, techniques, documentation of sightings and new technologies. The balance of the day will be spent in the field watching and listening for birds.

Two days later on June 19, The Clearing offers an iPhone-ography class. This annual, popular class with award winning photographer Jerry Hug will help students take better photos with iPhone cameras and then edit photos with fun and creative results to share with friends and family.

On June 21, Wisconsin author Jerry Apps will help participants learn how to craft life experiences into memoirs, stories to share with family, perhaps a children’s book, or even a novel. We all have stories to tell of our childhood years, first jobs, military service, life-changing events and never-told secrets. This introductory class includes exercises on how to recall memories, what makes a good story and how to avoid common errors. Students will have the opportunity to do some writing during the workshop. Apps will also hold a public book signing from 4 – 6 pm after class.

All day-classes run from 9 am to 4 pm. For more information or to register for classes, visit theclearing.org, call 920.854.4088 (877.854.3225 toll-free) between 8 am and 4 pm Monday through Friday.
