DC Master Gardeners Association Presents Seminar

The Door County Master Gardeners Association will host a seminar entitled “Ornamental Grasses at the Garden Door” on Saturday, October 16 at 10 am. The free seminar will take place at the UW Extension Research Station.

DD Knutson, a local grasses enthusiast, will present a slide show and lead a tour of Garden Door’s collection of more than 60 species of ornamental grasses, with emphasis on non-invasive species that will thrive in Door County. She will provide a handout providing botanic and common names, descriptions, and growing requirements of the grasses.

The warm weather species will be at their peak during the seminar. Coffee and cookies will be served at 11 am. Attendees are encouraged to dress for the weather; the tour will take place rain or shine.

The UW Extension Research Station is located on Highway 42, just north of Sturgeon Bay. For more information contact Bill and Sarah Freyman at 920.868.1749 or via email at [email protected].
