DCA Features Bluegrass Band Mountain Heart

On June 20, the Door Community Auditorium will come to life with the music of Mountain Heart, one of the most versatile and explosive ensembles on the acoustic music scene. Opening the evening will be Door County favorite, fiddler Lynn Gudmundsen.

Mountain Heart is made up of six musicians who combine elements of rock, jam band, country, blues, jazz, and bluegrass into a high-energy sound that is at once fresh, accessible, and unmistakable.

“Mountain Heart is definitely in a bluegrass vein,” said auditorium board member Larry Thoreseon, “but their musicianship puts them in a whole other league. They’re going to appeal to anyone who loves folk, roots, country, or any other kind of really great music.”

Opening act Lynn Gudmundsen is a frequent Door County performer, known for her engaging onstage personality and exceptional skill on the fiddle and mandolin. She will be joined by bassist Patrick Palmer, guitarist Dan Rass, and multi-instrumentalist Tommy Burroughs.

Tickets for the show range from $18 to $25 and can be purchased at the Door Community Auditorium on Highway 42 in Fish Creek, by calling 920.868.2728, or visiting http://www.dcauditorium.org.
