DCA Lecture Series Welcomes Dr. Benjamin Chan

On Feb. 25 at 10 am, Door Community Auditorium’s Distinguished Lecture Series will offer a lecture called “The Limits of Moral Progress.” The lecture will be delivered by Dr. Benjamin Chan, assistant professor of philosophy at St. Norbert College. Chan will ask the question: Is there a limit to the amount of moral progress that humans can make? Despite the persistence of conflict and suffering, it is hard to deny that humanity has made significant moral progress through the ages – but what if this is the best we can be? Drawing on research in ethics and the sciences, Chan will explore the limits of moral progress and how technological advances might help us to expand our ethical horizons.

Chan’s lecture is free to the public (freewill donations encouraged) and is sponsored by Dahl Law Firm and Ross Estate Planning; lodging is provided by Homestead Suites. Coffee and treats from Base Camp Coffee Shop will be available for purchase.

More information about the lecture is available at 920.868.2728,, or stop by the DCA box office, located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open 12-5 pm, Monday through Friday.
