DCA Presents Dr. Michael O’Malley for St. Norbert College Distinguished Lecture Series

The forth lecture in the St. Norbert College Distinguished Lecture Series at the Door Community Auditorium will take place on Feb. 19. Dr. Michael O’Malley, a previous visiting lecturer in history at St. Norbert College, will present his lecture entitled, “Crashing, Burning and Learning: Internet Hysteria.”
“This presentation will examine the dramatic impact of the internet on libraries, education, newspapers and retail,” said Dr. O’Malley. “It will examine how leaders in each of these areas have been challenged by the development of the internet and how many institutions and businesses have either ‘crashed and burned’ or have learned and been transformed to accommodate the new technology.”
Dr. O’Malley received his Ph.D. from Loyola University in Chicago. He then taught at St. Norbert College and worked in the college’s Center for International Education for two years before entering business. He is currently director of Internal Controls and Operations at Nsight, the parent company of Cellcom.
All lectures begin at 9 am and are free and open to the public. The Lecture Series is sponsored by Dahl Law Firm, LLC and Ross Estate Planning. Homestead Suites has provided lodging for Dr. O’Malley. Ecology Sports Base Camp will provide refreshments for purchase. The Door Community Auditorium is located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek.
