DCA Screens “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off will be showing as the second film in the Souper Movies Series on Saturday, Jan. 22 at 7 pm at the Door Community Auditorium. Admission is free and tickets are not required, but attendees are asked to bring a canned food donation to benefit Feed My People.

Written and directed by John Hughes, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off premiered in 1986. Matthew Broderick stars as Ferris Bueller, with Alan Ruck playing his very reluctant best friend, Cameron Frye, and Mia Sara as his girlfriend, Sloane Peterson. Ferris is in his last semester of high school when one morning, he wakes up and decides to play hooky…for the ninth time. He develops a very elaborate plan to make his absence from school appear legit, but the school principal, Ed Rooney, (played by Jeffrey Jones) despises Ferris’s lack of discipline and is determined to catch him in the act. Ferris, Cameron, and Sloane set out on a liberating day of Chicago sight-seeing with Rooney close behind the whole way.

The Door Community Auditorium is located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek. For more information call 920.868.2728 or visit http://www.dcauditorium.org.
