Play it Forward, Patty Griffin Kick off DCA Season

The Door Community Auditorium (DCA) presents its annual Play It Forward concert on June 12, 3 pm, at Stabbur in Sister Bay. The concert brings together some of Door County’s best-loved musicians to benefit a worthy cause.

Performers include Doc Heide, Paul Taylor, Julian Hagen, Thor Thoreson, Rian Hill, Terry Murphy, John Lewis, Cathy Grier, Solomon Lindenberg, Katie Dahl, Pete Thelen and Jeanne Kuhns.

Freewill donations are encouraged and will go to benefit Kuhns’ granddaughter, Alice Mattson, a young girl living in Door County and suffering from leukemia. Attendees are encouraged to donate directly to the family’s GoFundMe at gofund.me/6741b818 or via check made out to Jacob Mattson (specify Alice Mattson’s Care and Recovery in the memo and send to DCA). In case of rain, the show will be held at the DCA.

The official mainstage season for the DCA starts with a performance by Patty Griffin on June 16, 8 pm. Griffin is among the most consequential singer-songwriters of her generation, a quintessentially American artist whose wide-ranging canon and nimble, captivating voice explore the intimate moments and universal emotions that bind us together. Tickets for the performance range from $55 to $78.
