DCAL Announces Monthly Meeting and Artists of the Week

Advertising cuts and wood type samples are on display at the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum in Two Rivers.

The Door County Art League (DCAL) monthly meeting at 7 pm on Aug. 27 will feature Jim Moran, director of the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum. Moran will present a slide show about preserving a living museum in Two Rivers with the help of retired wood type artisans and volunteers.

According to Moran, “This is the only museum in the world dedicated to the preservation, study, production and printing of wood type. With 1.5 million pieces of wood type in a thousand styles and sizes, this is one of the premier collections in the world.”

Everyone interested in the arts is invited to the presentation at the Gibraltar Fire Station on County F in Fish Creek. Admission is free.
