barns, meadows and groves near her home in Fish Creek, along with the lighthouses and lakeshore stretching along Green Bay and Lake Michigan. The simplicity of the medium is one advantage.

“Watercolor painting en plein air requires a minimum of supplies and is easy to quickly set up in any location,” said Kenyon.

Mary Collette creates “You’ve Been Bugged” artwork using acrylic paint on smooth, round stones to transform them into colorful, expressive “bugs.” Each bug has its own personality and is tagged with a descriptive name.

“My objective overall is that they make a connection, and bring a smile,” said Colette.

The Door County Art League Gallery is open Monday through Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm, and Sunday, 11 am to 3 pm. It is located in the courtyard of the Top of the Hill shops in Fish Creek. For more information visit doorcountyartleague.org.
