DCAL Features Misselt and Mutchler

The Door County Art League (DCAL) Gallery will highlight works by Gretchen Misselt and Sherry Mutchler from Aug. 31 – Sept. 6.

Misselt enjoys using pastels to capture moments in the natural landscapes of Door County. She loves the wildness of nature around her Washington Island home. Riding the ferry to and from the mainland affords close studies of the waters and the changing reflections of the sky on the lake’s surface.

Mutchler is self-taught and has been painting for over 30 years. Artists who have inspired her include Bridget Austin, Ed Fenendael, and Phil Austin. In addition to being an artist, Mutchler is an adjunct instructor for Lakeland College’s MAC program in school counseling.

The DCAL Gallery is in the rear courtyard of the Top of the Hill Shops, located at Highway 42 and County F, Fish Creek. Hours are 11 am – 5 pm daily and 11 am – 3 pm Sunday. The gallery is closed on Wednesday. For more information call 920.868.2288 or visit doorcountyartleague.org.
