DCAL Features Pfister and Coaty

During the week of September 18, Penny Pfister and Martha Coaty are featured as Artists of the Week at the Gallery of the Door County Art League in Fish Creek.

Pfister is a watercolor artist who has expanded to oils and pastels. Oils allow her to capture the moment in her work by “allowing the influx of wonderful color and texture,” she said. Influenced by Bridget Austin and Shelby Keefe, Pfister’s paintings feature the landscapes and the beauty of Door County. Her work can also be seen at the Paint Box Gallery in Ephraim.

Coaty is a photographic artist. Her work is currently featured at the Hardy Gallery in Ephraim. She has also been featured at the Miller 35th Juried show and the Bergstrom Mahler Museum in Neenah.

The Gallery of the Door County Art League features the work of 35 artists in a variety of artistic medium and is located at the Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek. Open daily from 10 am – 5 pm, the gallery offers paintings, prints, photography, jewelry, pottery, woodcarvings, and more.

Gallery artists are decorating Adirondack chairs throughout September for a raffle for Door County non-profits. The Top of the Hill Shops Festival will take place September 24. On September 25 the gallery will host a wine and cheese reception from 3 – 5 pm. For more information call 920.868.2288.
