DCAL Gallery Features Plein Air Painters

“Here Comes the Sun” by Kimberly Rosploch.

The Door County Art League (DCAL) Gallery will showcase the artwork of plein air oil painters Kimberly Rosploch and Rick Brawner Sept. 14 – 20.

A mostly self-taught artist, Rosploch has loved art since childhood. Her style ranges from realistic to the more ‘loosely rendered plein air painting.’ She says of her work, “My subjects vary but I have a particular love for capturing the beauty and personalities of animals.”

At age 7, Brawner’s first painting was a mural on his grandmother’s living room wall behind her sofa. Subject matter was the family dog and his two brothers going on a hunting trip. His first critique was his Grandma scolding him, but the mural lasted for many years.

The DCAL Gallery is in the rear courtyard of the Top of the Hill Shops, located at Highway 42 and County F, Fish Creek. Hours are 11 am – 5 pm daily and 11 am – 3 pm Sunday. The gallery is closed on Wednesday. For more information call 920.868.2288 or visit doorcountyartleague.org.
