DCAL Gallery Opens Memorial Day Weekend

The Door County Art League (DCAL) Gallery opens for the season on May 26 at the Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek. On opening day visitors will be treated to a wine and cheese reception from 3 – 5 pm.

The DCAL Gallery also announces Barbara Kenyon as the artist of the week for May 26 – June 3. During this week, her paintings will be featured at the gallery. Using watercolor canvas and water-mixable oils, Kenyon creates most of her landscape paintings plein air. Her favorite subject matter is old barns. She attended classes at the American Academy of Art and has studied with Phil Austin, Bridget Austin, Joe Fettingis, Rob Williams and Lori Beringer.

The gallery features the art of 30 DCAL members and offers paintings, sculpture, jewelry and more. Artwork of Door County master artists are also highlighted, including paintings by Tom Seagard, DCAL 2011 Master Artist.

The DCAL Gallery is located in the rear courtyard of the Top of the Hill Shops, and is open every day from 10 am – 5 pm, until October 13. For more information call 920.868.2288 or visit http://www.doorcountyartleague.org.

The gallery is a co-operative program sponsored by the not-for-profit Door County Art League. Membership is open to all artists and supporters of the visual arts in Door County.
