DCAL Plein Air Artists Celebrate Eagle Bluff Lighthouse

The idyllic history and beauty of Eagle Bluff Lighthouse continues through paintings rendered by Door County Art League (DCAL) artists last month. Setting up their easels in the lighthouse’s yard, the artists are returning for an exhibition of their completed projects on August 20, 12:30 – 5 pm. All the displayed works will be available for immediate purchase with a portion of each sale to benefit Eagle Bluff Lighthouse.

Organized in 1986, DCAL membership is dedicated to developing an active community involvement in the field of creative arts. During the summer, a number of the members select a venue to paint plein air each Thursday morning from 8 – 11:30 am at various places throughout the county.

“I love having the artists visit Eagle Bluff Lighthouse. And to see the lighthouse captured on canvas for all to enjoy is a thrill,” said lighthouse curator/manager Patti Podgers.

DCAL membership is open to artists and all other persons interested in and supportive of the visual arts in Door County. Seasonally the DCAL operates a gallery at the Top of the Hills Shops.

Eagle Bluff Lighthouse Museum is located midway through Peninsula State Park on Shore Road. The lighthouse is open 10 am – 4 pm daily; tours are available on the hour and half-hour through 3:30 pm.
