DCA’s Winter Programming

In 2015, Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will offer a vibrant and engaging winter season of programming. With its blend of intimate coffeehouse concerts, St. Norbert College Distinguished lectures, and Movies at the Door film screenings, the auditorium’s diverse winter lineup will invigorate and energize the peninsula’s quiet season.

DCA will offer its weekly Saturday morning St. Norbert College Distinguished Lecture Series in January and February, this year featuring lectures on the threat of ISIS (Jan. 17), the 2014 Wisconsin gubernatorial election (Jan. 24), human rights (Jan. 31), Buddhism in Sri Lanka (Feb. 21), and Bolivian economics (Feb. 28). Lectures are free to the public; goodwill donations are encouraged.

On most Fridays in January and February, DCA will offer film screenings as part of its Movies at the Door series, this year featuring mostly films with connections to northeastern Wisconsin. Films will include Extreme, Loyal, Victorious (about Green Bay Packers fandom); a sing-along to the hit movie Mamma Mia; Jens Jensen: The Living Green; Door County favorite Feed the Fish; and the world premiere of The Emissary (written and directed by Door County’s own Tim Erskine). Films are free to the public; goodwill donations are encouraged.

Rounding out the season will be several Community Partner events put on at DCA by organizations around Door County. These events include the Peninsula Singers’ holiday concert on Dec. 14 and numerous performances by Gibraltar High School students during the winter and spring.

Door Community Auditorium is located on Highway 42 in Fish Creek. For more information, call 920.868.2728 or visit dcauditorium.org.
