DCEDC Annual Meeting May 25

• The Door County Economic Development Corporation will host its annual investors meeting and luncheon Wednesday, May 25 at the Stone Harbor Resort and Conference Center in Sturgeon Bay. The keynote speaker will be Paul Jadin, Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Commerce. His remarks will “Wisconsin’s Renewed Focus on Economic Development.”

In addition to the keynote address by Secretary Jadin, the annual investors meeting will include the presentation of the Door County Industry of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. The luncheon meeting will also include the annual report to the community about the accomplishments of DCEDC during 2010.

On December 30, 2010, Governor Scott Walker appointed Jadin as Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Commerce. From April 2003 until his appointment, Jadin was president and CEO of the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. From 1995 – 2003, he served two terms as Mayor of Green Bay, directly supervising all departments and managing a workforce of 950.

The DCEDC annual investors meeting will begin at 12 pm. Tickets for the luncheon are $30 per person or $280 for a table of 10. Tickets are available from the DCEDC office. For more information, call DCEDC at 920.743.3113 ext. 200 or email [email protected].

• The Village of Egg Harbor’s summer recycling program is open Wednesdays from 7 – 10 am and Saturdays from 9 am – noon and now accepts brush and compost materials.
