DCEDC Hosting Pitch Event for Entrepreneurs

The Door County Economic Development Corporation has partnered with numerous other economic-development organizations on a pitch event for entrepreneurs. To qualify, entrepreneurs must be at least 18 years old, have a W8 or W9, and be pre-revenue or early stage, meaning that there is less than $300,000 invested through capital raised and/or revenue received.

Those selected following a local review may take part in a virtual pitch-training session Nov. 2, then make a short pitch and answer judges’ questions during the Clipper Pitchin’ event Nov. 17, 6-8 pm, at the Door County Maritime Museum. Safety protocols will be followed. The first-place winner will receive a cash prize of $1,000; the second-place winner will receive $500.

Top local winners will advance to another competition Dec. 3 to vie for additional funding, investor attention and the chance to pitch a third time March 11, 2021.
