DCEDC Plans to Launch New Website

Since 2011, Door County Economic Development’s (DCEDC) website, DoorCountyBusiness.com, has been the face of Door County’s outreach to entrepreneurs and prospective new businesses about the favorable economic business climate available in Door County. The county’s business climate has accelerated a great deal since that time; the website, however, has not kept up.

“In 2011, the site was considered one of the best economic development sites to be found anywhere,” said Jim Schuessler, DCEDC’s executive director. “Times and best practices change, and we must take steps to get back on the cutting edge in order to match the excellent climate for business that we offer here.”

Next year, DCEDC will celebrate its 30th year of service to Door County, and that is a perfect time to launch a site that will again match the strong economic climate available to entrepreneurs and existing businesses alike. The new website will also provide strong outreach to prospective workforce, through a strong outside marketing campaign and increasing awareness of jobsindoorcounty.com. Currently, there are hundreds of full-time jobs available in Door County and DCEDC plans to drive awareness that the area is not just the best place in the Midwest for recreation, but a great place to live and work as well. The complete request for proposal can be found at doorcountybusiness.com/news/. Proposals are due Dec. 5. The revamped website is expected to launch in early spring of 2019.
