At the Door County Medical Center (DCMC) Auxiliary’s Christmas luncheon in December, Maribeth Hetherington, auxiliary president; and Bruce Shewchuk, auxiliary president-elect, presented three checks to DCMC. Kelli Bowling, DCMC’s chief culture officer, accepted them on behalf of Brian Stephens, DCMC president and CEO.
The first check – for $333,150 – represents the value of the auxiliary’s 13,800 all-volunteer service hours during the 2019 calendar year.
The $65,000 to DCMC’s Skilled Nursing Facility and Hospice Care Center included proceeds from the 59th annual House and Garden Walk and other fundraising events.
In October, the auxiliary received $10,000 during the quarterly meeting of 100+ Women Who Care of Northern Door and presented this third check to help fund the installation of a dental facility in the new Skilled Nursing Facility and Hospice Care Center.
