DCMM Hosts Gills Rock Fish Boil

Enjoy a genuine Door County fish boil in the most appropriate setting possible—the net shed by Weborg’s Dock in the historic fishing village of Gills Rock at the tip of the Door Peninsula. The fish boil will follow the Door County Maritime Museum’s annual meeting, which begins at 12 pm on Oct. 5.

The classic fish boil will be expertly prepared by J & M Fisheries. Festivities begin at 1 pm with a social followed by the always spectacular “boil over” and dinner at 1:30 pm.

To lend an authentic atmosphere to the proceeding, the fish boil dinner will be served in the net shed. The traditional boil will include fresh whitefish, potatoes, onions, coleslaw, rye bread and cherry pie slices for dessert. Broasted chicken will also be available as an alternate entrée.

Weborg’s Dock is located on Highway 42 in Gills Rock, a short distance before the turn towards Northport. Find it by driving north on Highway 42 and turning left on the first road past Cottage Road in Gills Rock. For those using a GPS navigation device, enter 12695 State Hwy. 42, Ellison Bay, Wisconsin.

The cost is $20 for museum members and $25 for non-members. Youth, ages 5-18, are $10 and $15 respectively. Reservations are required. For reservations call 920.743.5958.
