DCSPS Present America’s Boating Safety Class

Boating season is quickly approaching and it’s time to think about safety on the water and getting vessels ready for the 2018 season. Safety begins with the America’s Boating Safety Class presented by the Door County Sail and Power Squadron (DCSPS). Those born after 1989 are required to have successfully passed this boating safety certification class. For experienced boaters, it is an excellent refresher on the rules of the road/water.

The DCSPS present this ABC Course at NWTC Room SBSC11 in Sturgeon Bay the week of June 11-14. Classes cover a variety of topics and run from 6:30-8:30 pm. Registration is $20 and pre-registration is required by contacting Lou Pasquesi at 920.421.2214 or Bob DeNoto at 920.493.0287. Students under the age of 15 are advised to be accompanied by a parent or guardian to ensure completion of course.

The DCSPS also has US Coast Guard Certified Vessel Examiners available to inspect your vessel at your boat slip or on your trailer in your driveway to make sure it follows State and Federal Boating Regulations.

For more information or to enroll visit usps.org/door or call Pasquesi at 920.421.2214.
