DCU Boys Swimmers Win Dual Meet Over Pulaski

The Door County United (DCU) cooperative boys swimming team recorded nine first-place finishes Tuesday and won its final home dual meet of the season over Pulaski, 90-74, at the Door County YMCA’s Carla and Ellsworth Peterson Aquatic Center in Sturgeon Bay.

DCU had the top time in two relay events with Race Kasten, Jack Monfils, Colton Blackley and Logan Filar winning the 200-yard medley relay in 1 minute, 46.7 seconds, and Monfils, Blackley, Filar and Ezra Linnan placing first in the 200 freestyle relay (1:37.44).

Two of DCU’s swimmers each won two individual events.

Monfils placed first in the 200 individual medley (2:10.07) and 100 butterfly (59.75).

Linnan won the 100 freestyle (56.53) and 100 backstroke (1:07.86).

DCU’s other three individual winners were Branden Neubauer in the 200 freestyle (2:13.31), Kasten in the 50 freestyle (24.22) and Filar in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.23).

Kasten, Neubauer, Filar and Tre Wienke finished runner-up in the 400 freestyle relay (3:52.4), while DCU’s second-place individual finishers included Kasten in the 500 freestyle (5:50.68) and Wienke in the 100 breaststroke (1:16.26). 

Up next for DCU is the conference meet Saturday at Chilton, prior to the WIAA Division 1 sectional Feb. 11 at Neenah.
