Death Doulas Explainer at Sept. 22 Program

Northern Door Health & Wellness Ministry (northerndoorhealthwellness.com) will continue its Community Health Information Programs on Sept. 22, 4 pm, when Marggie Hatala of Doulagivers of Door County will present “What Does a Death Doula Offer at the End of Life?” at Sister Bay’s First Baptist Church. She will discuss what happens within a family as its members face a terminal diagnosis and offer insight into the physical, emotional and mental support that’s needed and how a death doula can help.

The ministry also offers free blood-pressure screenings beginning at 5 pm at the monthly Loaves & Fishes meal on the fourth Tuesday at St. Rosalia Church in Sister Bay; and 8:15-10:15 am monthly on the second Tuesday at the YMCA in Fish Creek.

CPR/AED courses are also being offered at the Sister Bay & Liberty Grove Fire Department on Sept. 19, 6-10 pm; and Oct. 17, 6-10 pm. Classes educate the community in the proper method of using an AED and performing CPR. The cost is $30 per person. To register, leave a message at 920.854.4021, or email [email protected].
