Death’s Door Bar-B-Q Winners

Despite a cool start to the day things heated up Aug. 26 to see Gettin’ Basted of Branson, Missouri crowned with Grand Champion of the 11th annual Death’s Door Bar-B-Q. The Reserve Grand Champion award went to team Hogline BBQ of Owatonna, Minnesota. Finishing third was Can Country Outlaw of Windsor, Wisconsin.

Twenty-nine teams competed in the event sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS). In the KCBS One Meat Rib Contest, the first-place award went to Gettin’ Basted. In the individual categories, first-place awards went to: Hogline BBQ, for the chicken category; Can Country Outlaw, in the pork ribs category; and Shiggin & Grinnin, of Delano, Minnesota, for the brisket category.

The second day, Aug. 27, the Grand Champion went to Shiggin & Grinnin. The Reserve Grand Champion went to Gettin’ Basted. Finishing third was Hogline BBQ.
