Death’s Door History Presentation

Ever wonder what they call it Death’s Door?

Brennan Christianson has the answer for you at the next edition of the Door County Maritime Museum Speaker Series Jan. 6.

Christianson, the museum’s collections coordinator, will discuss the naming of Death’s Door, the treacherous passage at the northern tip of the Door peninsula. He’ll present his research on the passage’s history and examine the time during which the naming may have occurred and historians’ attempts to explain the Death’s Door name.

The Maritime Speaker Series programs are held monthly on the first Thursday, through May. They are free, but donations of nonperishable food items are encouraged. Those who are watching online are asked to donate to a local food pantry.

The presentation starts at 7 pm. Find out more and register for the online presentation at dcmm.org/maritime-speaker-series.
