Deborah Dendler’s “American Woman” Earns Honorable Mention

Women exhibition, where it won an Honorable Mention. Dendler says, “‘American Woman’ is about contemporary woman’s struggle with the idolization and enslavement over her appearance. The roses represent the transitory rewards for a woman’s beauty; the chains symbolize the trap inherent in the unending quest for physical beauty and perfection.”

Light Space & Time Gallery in Jupiter, Fla., says, “This art competition had an open theme, for women artists only … The gallery received entries from 33 different countries from around the world … and from 38 different states.” The exhibit runs from Jan. 1 – 31, which you can see online at lightspacetime.com/all-women-art-exhibit-2016-3-dimensional-art-category.
