Deer-vehicle Collision Season Arrives

Collisions between deer and motor vehicles always peak during the first few weeks of November during the whitetail breeding season. We’re not there yet with the data, but so far there have been 78 deer-vehicle collisions in Door County through the end of September. Fortunately, those accidents did not cause any injuries or fatalities, and let’s keep it that way. Be careful out there. The crash locations on this map don’t guarantee that your vehicle and a deer won’t cross paths elsewhere, but it’s a good indication of where to slow down and be extra cautious. We’ll check back with the Door County Highway Safety Commission to update the data as the year comes to a close. Source: Door County Highway Safety Commission.
