Dendler On Exhibit in Boston and New York

Deborah Dendler, artist and resident of Fish Creek, is exhibiting oil paintings and relief sculptures in the Illuminations exhibition at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, from Feb. 1 to July 1, 2016. Illuminations is an invitational exhibit that brings high-caliber works of art in various mediums to the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center. The exhibit is intended to offer enlightenment and encouragement to patients, families, staff and friends of the Cancer Center as they receive care, provide care, or accompany loved ones.

Illuminations transforms generic waiting areas into a virtual art gallery of revolving exhibits that feature works by numerous regional and national artists. The work of several artists, representing various media, is on display for four months at a time. Art is one of the many sources that illuminates a pathway to healing at the Mass General Cancer Center,” says Megan Carleton, a licensed mental health counselor and registered art therapist. In 2015, Dendler exhibited her porcelain relief sculpture, “Trotting Horse,” in three successive national juried exhibitions in New York. Dendler’s work was exhibited at The Audubon Artists Exhibition in October, the American Artists Professional League Grand National Exhibition in November, and the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club Exhibition in December.
