Dessert Demo, Wine Sampling at Blessing of the Grapes

The National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help will celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of Mary and the third annual Blessing of the Grapes – a time to give thanks for the growing season – on Sept. 8.

Enjoy a farm-to-table picnic luncheon featuring celebrity chef Ace Champion – fresh from Thursday’s food-segment challenge on NBC’s Today Show – who will prepare an apple-cherry cream-pie dessert and present a dessert demonstration as part of the luncheon. Mona Rose Winery, Parallel 44 Vineyard and Winery, and von Stiehl Winery will take part in the ceremony and offer samples. Guest speaker Mary Amore – executive director of Mayslake Ministries, a Catholic/Christian Spirituality Center in Downers Grove, Illinois – will round out the festivities with her Marian talk

The cost is $10 per person, and registration is required. Visit ShrineOfOurLadyOfGoodHelp.com to learn more and register.
