Destroyers to Host First Playoff Game Sept. 10

After a 20-7 win over the Muskego Hitmen in Greenfield, Wis., on Aug. 27, the Door County Destroyers Semi-Pro Football team has earned a No. 2-seed in the Northern Conference of the Mid-States Football League (MSFL). That win also solidified a home playoff game in Week 1 of the playoffs.

The scheduled kickoff is 3 pm on Sept. 10 at the Baileys Harbor Rec Park (2623 Summit Road) as the Door County Destroyers (6-3 on the regular season) host the Milwaukee County Chargers (5-4). The winner will move on to the Conference Championship game against the Racine Raiders (9-0) on Sept. 17.

In their continued mission of giving back to their community, the Door County Destroyers will express their gratitude and appreciation of local military personnel. All active duty and veterans from all branches of the military are invited to attend the Sept. 10 playoff game at no charge. A color guard will present the flag for the singing of the National Anthem and there will be recognition of all military in attendance at halftime. Children 10 and below are also admitted free, and all other tickets may be purchased for $8, which includes a beverage from the concession stand.
