Destroyers July 29 Charity Game Benefits Humane Society

In the sixth week of Mid-States Football League (MSFL) play, the Door County Destroyers headed to Illinois and came back with a win. They faced the Leyden Lions July 22 and won a tough battle 27-20. Both teams were sitting with a record of 2-3 going into the game.

Next up for the Destroyers are the Racine Raiders July 29 at the Baileys Harbor Rec Park. The Destroyers are collaborating with the Door County Humane Society (DCHS) for this game to raise money for the nonprofit.

One hundred percent of online tickets sold for the July 29 game will benefit DCHS. To purchase tickets, go to dcdestroyers.com. To further add to the festivities there will be a 50-50 raffle with proceeds benefiting DCHS. The organization will also have an information booth set up during the game to provide information about animals available for adoption and the many services and programs they provide.

“Please take this opportunity to enjoy some great family fun while simultaneously supporting the many homeless cats and dogs in the Door County community,” said DCHS Communications and Development Coordinator April Delfosse.

Kickoff is set for 4 pm at the Baileys Harbor Rec Park. The winner all but stamps their ticket to the 2017 MSFL Playoffs.
