Destroyers Out of Playoffs, But 10 Named to All Star Team

The season came to an end for the Door County Destroyers on Oct. 19 in round one of playoffs in the Wisconsin State Football League, when they lost 20 – 24 to the Sheboygan County Rebels.

The Destroyers finished the season with a 7-5 record.

The Rebels face the M&M Timberjacks on Oct. 26, and the Manitowoc County Mariners face the Washington County Untouchables to determine who goes to the Nov. 2 WSFL championship.

Ten Door County Destroyers were named to the Northern WSFL All Star game, which takes place Nov. 9, beginning at 1 pm, at Memorial Field in Howards Grove.

Destroyer All Stars include:

First Team: Offensive Line, #79 Ryan Zuehlke; Offensive Line, #60 Sean Tacket; Defensive End, #47 Bryan Beachler; Linebacker, #52 Chris LeCloux; Safety, #3 Andre Wilson; Kicker/Punter, #13 Cory Bougie.

Second Team: Quarterback, #16 Nathan Smithson; Wide Receiver, #19 Max Seroogy; Cornerback, #37 Jordan Parkos; Safety, #54 Christopher Richardson.
