Destroyers to Face the Patriots

On July 25, the Door County Destroyers traveled to Racine for a conference game against the Threat. The Destroyers dominated most of the game as they cruised to a 38-7 victory. With the win, the Destroyers improve to 3-1-1 and the Threat fall to 0-5.

On Aug. 1, the Destroyers play host to the Patriots of Lincoln-Way. Although the Destroyers are new to the MSFL, they are not new to the Patriots as these two teams have faced each other twice in the last two years for pre-season games. In 2013, the Destroyers’ first ever win came against the Patriots by a score of 27-13 in front of 500 fans in Baileys Harbor. Last year, the Patriots defeated the Destroyers 34-14 at Providence Catholic High School in Illinois.

This year’s match-up is back in Baileys Harbor as the 3-1-1 Destroyers look to continue their winning streak and the Patriots hope to maintain their undefeated season, currently at 5-0. Kickoff is at 4 pm at the Baileys Harbor Rec Park. For more information visit doorcountydestroyers.com.
