Didgeridoo Up from Down Under in Coffeehouse Series

Feb. 17 at 7 pm, the Door Community Auditorium’s (DCA) Fireside Lobby will come alive with the distinct sounds of aboriginal Australian instrument the didgeridoo, presented by Brian Pertl of Lawrence University, as part of DCA’s Coffeehouse Concert Series. Using an engaging mixture of demonstration and audience participation, Pertl will show the audience what goes into didgeridoo playing.

Pertl is currently Dean of the Lawrence Conservatory of Music. He has done fieldwork in Australia studying the didgeridoo and has three CDs to his credit, including one called The Didgeri Dudes.

Tickets for Pertl’s concert are $14. The Door Community Auditorium box office, located on Highway 42 in Fish Creek, is open Monday through Friday from 12 – 5 pm. Tickets can be purchased in person, by calling 920.868.2728, or by visiting http://www.dcauditorium.org.
