Dinner and Documentary at Greens N Grains

Greens N Grains will screen the Michael Pollan documentary In Defense of Food Feb. 15.

“Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants,” said Pollan.

With that seven-word maxim, Pollan distills a career’s worth of reporting into a prescription for reversing the damage being done to people’s health by an industrially driven Western diet. In Defense of Food is a documentary based on his recent book that debunks the daily media barrage of conflicting claims about nutrition. He travels the globe and explores the supermarket aisles to illustrate the principles of his bestselling “eater’s manifesto,” and offers a clear answer to the question, what should I eat to be healthy?

Pollan is the author of five New York Times bestsellers:  The Omnivore’s Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals, The Botany of Desire, In Defense of Food, Food Rules and, most recently, Cooked: A Natural History of Transformation.

Greens N Grains Café in Egg Harbor offers an organic dinner before the screening. Enjoy a delicious soup specialty, salad, bread and a cup of tea for $9.50, available from 6 pm. Dinner and a Movie Night screenings take place at 7 pm and there is no charge to attend, but seating is limited to 20 people and those attending dinner have reserved seating. Reservations are required; call 920.868.9999 or email [email protected]. For more information visit Greens-N-Grains.com.
