Dinner in the Vineyard to Feature Matt Poole

Matt Poole of Hotel Washington will prepare the entrée this year for this year’s five-course Dinner in the Vineyard, Aug. 29 on Washington Island.

“I don’t always get to be there with guests while they are enjoying their meal,” he said. “I’m excited to be able to share a meal, especially at Gathering Ground, which captures my vision for Hotel Washington with their goal of sustainability.” 

The event, organized by Anne Dannhausen, includes a vineyard tour, passed appetizers and drinks, and a community, family-style meal.

Dinner in the Vineyard hopes to close the gaps among between chefs, farmers and diners. Gathering Ground’s long-term vision includes building up its internship program to be a “rural year”: a gap-year program that offers young adults the chance to have hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture, farm-to-table kitchens and rural living.
