Discover Flowers, Meadows and Insects at Crossroads

On Aug. 19, visit Crossroad’s Heritage Garden and see insect pollinators. Join the naturalist in enjoying the flowers and the butterflies and other insects that visit. Meet at the Heritage Garden gate.

On Aug. 20, discover butterflies in the prairie. At 8 am on the 20th, volunteers are invited to help control the buckthorn in the Crossroads preserve. Equipment is provided, but wear clothing that may be soiled and sturdy shoes.

On Aug. 21, summer educator Joan Wilkie will show participants how to create a bird haven with a few clever gardening tricks.

On Aug. 22, hands-on activities will help participants recognize fossils, with an optional fossil hunt to follow.

Family programs are offered at Crossroads at Big Creek Monday through Thursdays during the summer.

The Collins Learning Center, located at 2041 Michigan in Sturgeon Bay, is open 1:30 – 3:30 pm daily and during scheduled programs. For more information visit crossroadsatbigcreek.org.
