‘Discover Wisconsin’ Throws Premiere Party in Ephraim

Discover Wisconsin, the state’s leading media brand and tourism TV show, will shine the spotlight on Door County in an upcoming episode. “Door County – Live Life Well” premieres Jan. 13 at 10 am on Fox Sports Wisconsin and at 6:30 pm on WFRV Channel 5. The episode will also be available on discoverwisconsin.com after Jan. 14.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to spend quite a bit of time in Door County while filming Discover Wisconsin over the years, and each time I visit, I discover something new here,” said Mariah Haberman, co-host of Discover Wisconsin. “From the allure of Washington Island to the peninsula’s incredible food and cultural arts, there’s just nowhere else like Door County in the world. We are thrilled to name Door County a 2018 Choice Destination!”

A premiere party will be held Jan. 9, 3 – 5 pm at the Ephraim Village Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

The show kicks off in Ephraim, where Haberman highlights its abundance of shops, restaurants and sights, as well as the annual springtime celebration, Fyr Bal.

“We’re excited for viewers to see how this multi-faceted episode came together,” said Jon Jarosh of the Door County Visitor Bureau. “It highlights some of the wonderful places that visitors love about Door County.”

Next, host Collin Geraghty discovers two of Door County’s oldest professional theaters. Northern Sky Theater is an outdoor amphitheater nestled in the woods in the middle of Peninsula State Park, performing original musical comedies. Peninsula Players Theatre is located on 16 acres of cedar forests on the shores of Green Bay.

Geraghty introduces Door County Coffee, a family-run business where visitors can enjoy a café and restaurant, gift shop, and view the coffee being roasted on-site.

The episode comes to a close on Washington Island, where Haberman visits Fragrant Isle Lavender Farm & Shop. She learns from the farm’s lavender experts, tours the 14,000 lavender plants (soon to be 20,000 in spring 2018), and stops by the Garden Café to try some sweet Lavender treats.

“Door County – Live Life Well” will reach Discover Wisconsin’s broadcast network of 600,000 viewers across the upper Great Lakes region, including Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Northern Illinois, and Upper Michigan. To learn more, visit discoverwisconsin.com.
