Display Space Added to Baileys Harbor Library

The Baileys Harbor McArdle Library has new, local art on display. Along with the permanent collection, Cheryl Parker, Marlene Ekman, John Whitney, Renee Hilgers, Zachary Prust and Kristen Peil have brought artwork to share with the community. New shelving was installed and display space has been expanded.

The Baileys Harbor Historical Society display cases at the Town Hall currently have their Women’s History Month Honoree exhibit installed. Marlene Ekman is featured. Ekman, a Baileys Harbor girl who became a successful illustrator, is sharing some of her Irish related illustrations (in the spirit of St Patrick’s Day) along with her life history. Past honorees include Gladys Barnowski and Jessie DeBooth.

Baileys Harbor artists who would like to share their creations should let Jeannie Majeski, the Baileys Harbor librarian, know.
