DKB&EP Unveils Student-constructed Home

Nick Cater, Sevastopol junior, received the Miles Zastrow Excellence in Building & Achievement Award and $1,000 Scholarship.

The Door Kewaunee Business & Education Partnership (DKBEP) honored the achievements of 11 area youth at an open house and dedication ceremony on May 22 for the 6th Annual DKBEP High School Home Construction Program.

Student builder Nicholas Cater, a junior from Sevastopol High School, took home the Miles Zastrow Excellence in Building and Achievement Award and accompanying scholarship. Recipients of this award receive $1,000 for future educational endeavors in a trade field. Upon graduating in 2014, Cater will pursue a plumbing apprentice license and work alongside his father in the family business, Cater Plumbing.

Southern Door High School senior Trevor Marin was also announced as the recipient of the Door County Homebuilders Association (DCHBA) Scholarship, and will receive a $1,000 academic scholarship. For more information visit dkbep.com.
