DNR Looking for ATV Safety Instructors

Organizations interested in helping the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to recruit and train all-terrain vehicle (ATV) safety instructors and volunteer trail ambassadors may apply for funding – up to $297,000 per year – through a two-year program to promote safe ATV/UTV operation.

Interested organizations must provide documentation that they are registered with the Wisconsin Secretary of State as nonstock organizations, have an established board of directors and provide a business plan detailing how they will help the DNR recruit, train and support instructors and trail ambassadors; promote the safety-education program and ATV/UTV-related tourism; and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders, among other requirements.Interested organizations should search dnr.wi.gov for ATV UTV Enhancement Funding. The application-submission deadline is June 28, 5 pm. The DNR expects to issue the fund agreement to the successful applicant no later than July 19; it will be effective as of July 1, 2019.
