DNR Urges Homeowners to Fix Pipe Leaks

If your water-utility bill is steadily increasing for unknown reasons, the Wisconsin DNR suggests checking for leaks and drips in your bathroom, kitchen and yard. The state DNR is joining forces with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to promote Fix-a-Leak Week, March 18-24, to remind homeowners that leaks can waste up to 10,000 gallons or more per year per household, resulting in unnecessary costs. The DNR is a partner of the WaterSense Program, which sponsors this annual event. Search the DNR’s website, dnr.wi.gov, for “water conservation and efficiency” and read daily tips on the DNR’s Facebook and Twitter pages to learn more about finding and fixing common leaks.
