Dogs Welcome to K9 Nose Work Group

A K9 Nose Work group is starting in Sturgeon Bay. K9 Nose Work is the sport sanctioned by the National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW). This sport was inspired by detection style training for working K9s and has elements that are founded in that type of training and work. That inspiration has evolved into a fun search and scenting activity that virtually all dogs and their people can enjoy.

Although this is a competitive sport, many people participate solely for its ability to increase confidence in dogs and for the sheer enjoyment it brings to dog/handler teams. Dogs of any age may participate.

Sue Ruesch, CNWI (Certified Nose Work Instructor), will lead the course at the Rod and Gun Club on Mathey Road in Sturgeon Bay. Classes begin May 13 at 6:45 pm and runs through June 17. The cost for the six classes is $85. Dogs need current vaccinations records and a crate.
