Don Howard’s “Door County Impressions” Hang at Base Camp

Base Camp Coffee Bar in Sister Bay will host a display of art and poetry by Don Howard from Sunday, November 22 through mid-January. An opening reception will be held on Sunday, Nov. 22 from 2 – 4 pm.

Howard moved to Door County in 1991 after a career as an educational administrator, art and applied technology teacher. His art depicts his love of nature and the unique beauty of Door County while his poetry describes impressions of the Door County experience.

A banner of “Geese over the Mink River” hangs near his watercolor of “smoke house memories” while samples of poems express “the whisper of the woods” and “Winter at the Door.”

Base Camp, located in the lower level of Ecology Sports at 10904 Highway 42 in Sister Bay, is open daily 7:30 am – 4 pm.
