Donation Given to Home Construction Project

AT&T presented $1,500 to the Door Kewaunee Business Education Partnership’s home construction project on April 30.

“They’re investing in our business partnership, and in turn they are investing in you,” said Tara LeClair, partnership business and education manager.

The home construction program allows students from Door County high schools to step out of the classroom and get real work experience on a construction site. The twelve students participating represent every county high school, and most plan to go into a trade after graduation.

State Assembly representative Garey Bies was there to see the award presentation, and addressed the participating students.

“You’ve got skills that will help you through the rest of your life,” Bies said.

The home construction project is weeks ahead of schedule, and an open house will be held May 22 from 3 to 6 pm. The home is located on Highway 57 in Valmy.
