DOOR CANcer Named Recipient of Jacksonport Day Parade Benefit

With five recommendations brought to the table, the Jacksonport Thanksgiving Day Parade Committee could not choose just one recipient of the funds collected at the annual Thanksgiving Day Parade. The common strand through all the recommendations was cancer, and therefore DOOR CANcer, Inc. will be the fundraising recipient. DOOR CANcer, Inc. states, “Whenever there is a human in need, there is an opportunity for kindness and to make a difference.” This echoes the mission of the Jacksonport Thanksgiving Day Parade & Benefit.

Bucket donations will be collected along the parade route. Gibraltar DECA and the Sevastopol Student Council organize the event together and will host a raffle at JJ’s of Jacksonport.

Parade participants are asked to meet at the ballpark between 9:30 and 10 am. The Jacksonport Area Business Association sponsors a $100 prize for best entry. The Grand Marshals this year are last year’s recipients, Larry and Maggie DeMeuse. The parade begins at 10:30 am. Questions about the parade can be directed to Mary Witteborg at 920.421.0719.
