As its 22nd season performing under the stars at Peninsula State Park comes to a close, American Folklore Theatre (AFT) will shift the momentum from a strong end to their Summer Season to the opening of their Fall Season of Cheeseheads, the Musical at the Door Community Auditorium.

“When Cheeseheads premiered in 2009, we literally had people leaping from their seats en masse to state out loud and proud, ‘I’m a Cheesehead.’ It truly is a testament to a show’s impact when we decide to bring it back for a third season and then feature it as our fall show,” stated Artistic Director Jeff Herbst.

Many of the original cast members will reprise their roles with this production including Doug Mancheski, Molly Rhode, Chase Stoeger, and Pamela Niespodziani.

Cheeseheads will reach a milestone of 100 performances with the 4 pm show on Sept. 15. A celebration complete with cheesecake and cheese curds is in the works.

True to the play’s theme of celebrating all things Wisconsin, Cheeseheads, the Musical features a performance schedule that is Packer game friendly. The show opened Aug. 30 and runs through Oct. 14.

Tickets are $27 for adults and $13 for children 12 and under.

For tickets, call 920.854.6117, visit http://www.FolkloreTheatre.com, or stop by the AFT box office at the Green Gable Shops in Ephraim.
